وطالب مدير تحرير الوفد، بتشكيل لجنة طبية محايدة للكشف على الرئيس مرسي، للتأكد من صحة ما قيل وقطع الطريق أمام أي جدل يثار بالنسبة لتلك القضية، داعيا الرئاسة للاعتذار حالة ثبوت صحة تلك المعلومات، وكذلك اعتذار ''الوفد'' إذا ثبت خطأها.
كان الدكتور ياسر علي، المتحدث الرسمي لرئاسة الجمهورية، قد نفى، في تصريحات لبرنامج ''الحياة اليوم'' المذاع على فضائية ''الحياة'' ما نشرته الوفد، ووصفها بالافتراءات.
كما أعلن علي أن مؤسسة الرئاسة ستتخذ جميع الاجراءات القانونية ضد الجريدة ومحرر الخبر.
وقال المتحدث باسم الرئاسة: ''نأسف لوقوع جريدة الوفد في هذا الخطأ المهني الفادح، ونحذر من الشائعات وجماعات المصالح التي تثيرها في وقت الجميع مدعو فيه إلى الاصطفاف نحو مصلحة الوطن''.
